Picture is of Tank sleeping on his belly. He was going to sleep standing up before because it was too painful to do anything else. This broke my heart. The new vet and pet clinic, in addition to our new caring system for him, has really improved his condition.
Good news. FINALLY, good news!
1. Tank is walking, sitting (like an old person and in slow-mo, but hey, we’ll take it), lying down on his side, lying down on his belly, and can go up and down the stairs (one step at a time)! He also let us bathe him for the first time since the accident :). He LOVED it! He didn’t move or flinch once, just shook off the water (another good sign - shows that he can move all of his body parts, bones, etc., from his head to his pudgy toes).
2. My tita, who has been suffering with neuropathy because of the high dosage chemo that was given to her, saw her doctor today and he prescribed her pain meds which relieved the pain almost immediately. I am not a fan of meds, but I know that in her case, she really needs it - and I’m happy that she’s in our guest room, watching DZMM or whatever that show is that’s actually a radio program but airs on TV.
3. My mom and dad, after a 2-month trip to see my brothers, family, attend a wedding in Mexico, are finally coming home on Wednesday night. To say that I’ve missed them is an understatement. I also heard that there are a few nice designer bags in mama’s suitcase just for little ole me.
4. I get to see Jay tonight! He’s sleeping in the Alabang house (yay!). We have had to Skype the past few nights and have a long distance marriage because it’s hard for him to have late work nights and then commute to the south.
5. I can’t find my makeup bag. So I thought I’d treat myself to a Beauty Bar trip and got myself a much needed Smashbox Compact. And because I’ve had to live without my Shu Uemura eyelash curler, I realize that applying mascara without curling my lashes ain’t so bad after all.
6. I found a really good vet. His name is Dr. Nick (Nicholas) Carpio and he practices at VIP (Vets in Practice) in Mandaluyong and Pasay (forget what it’s called here but I know it’s in Cartimar). VIP has a fantastic clinic, service is great and Dr. Carpio was superb with Tank, and also patiently gave me informed consent for all of Tank’s treatments. He explained why and how he was doing everything, and also armed me with information as I help Tank recuperate. His colleague, Dr. Nielsen, also gets kudos for staying on the phone with me for 30 minutes without charging me a single centavo :).
7. I have a box of Meiji Macadamia Milk Chocs with my name on it. Peace out!
